What data we collect
- Account data: name, email address and workspace details of the people who sign up for Botomate.
- Connected account data: identifiers and access tokens for the social accounts you connect (for example a Facebook Page, an Instagram business account, a TikTok Business Account or a Zalo Official Account).
- Conversation data: messages sent to your connected accounts by your customers, their public profile name and identifier on that platform, and replies sent by your team.
- Contact form data: the name, email address and optional message you submit through our contact form, used only to reply to you.
- Usage and technical data: log data such as IP address, browser type and actions in the app, used for security and reliability.
Why we collect it
- To show customer messages in your shared inbox and let your team reply.
- To keep your account connections working and secure.
- To provide support, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Third-party platform data
Data we receive from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Zalo is used only to provide the services that the business account owner has authorized: connecting the account, receiving customer messages and sending replies. We do not sell this data. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or to train machine learning models, and we do not share it with data brokers. We use it in line with the terms and policies of each platform.
How messages are processed
Messages are received through the platform’s official interfaces, stored in your workspace and displayed to the agents you authorize. If you turn on automated replies or AI assisted responses, message content may be processed by those features to produce a reply for your team. {{confirm AI provider and details before launch}}
Data retention
We keep workspace data while your account is active. When you disconnect an account, we stop receiving new data from it. When you ask us to delete your data, or close your workspace, we delete the associated data as described on the Data Deletion page. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle. {{state retention period}}
Data sharing
We share data only with service providers that host or operate the service for us (for example cloud hosting), under confidentiality obligations, and where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and secured storage for tokens and conversation data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected customers of a breach where required by law.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or withdraw authorization for a connected account at any time. Customers who wrote to a business that uses Botomate should contact that business first, and may also contact us.
